(THE ENGINEER comes in and takes TAM to CHRIS. KIM prays before the shrine of her parents, blows out the candles and disappears behind the bed curtain. A gunshot. KIM's body falls to the floor.)

(CHRIS picks up KIM and cradles her in his arms.)

CHRIS
what have you done, Kim? Why?

KIM
the gods have guided you to your son

CHRIS
please don't die

KIM

(CHRIS holds her)

KIM

(KIM'S embrace becomes lifeless. CHRIS sobs, holding her.)
