Poetry is a book of light at night
Dispersing clouds of unknowing
It hears the whisper
Of elephants
And sees how many angels dance
On the head of a pin
And how many angels and devils dance on the head of a phallus
It is a humming a keening
A laughing a sighing at dawn
A wild soft laughter
It is the final gestalt
Of the immagination
Poetry should be emotion
Recollected in emotion.

Se può strapparsi via dall'illusione
Non sarà ripudiata
Prima dell'alba
La poesia è fatta evaporando
La risata liquida della giovinezza
La poesia è un libro di luce di notte
Che diffonde nuvole di non sapere
Ode il sussurro
Degli elefanti
E vede quanti angeli danzano
Sulla capocchia di uno spillo
E quanti angeli e diavoli danzano sulla punta di un fallo
E' un ronzio un lamento
Una risat un singhiozzo all'alba
Una risatina matta
E' la Gestalt finale
Dell'immaginazione
La poesia dovrebbe essere emozione
Ricomposta insieme nell'emozione
